Once you contact us for a private consultation, you will receive a personalized one-hour visit with Dr. Black and Heidi Anzalone R.N. You can expect to receive a price quote based on your individual plan. This quote will be good for 180 days. You plan includes six weeks of personalized care and individual attention as a part of your care and follow-up to surgery.

Dr. Black is a firm believer in giving you the best care possible. Plastic surgical procedures are medical procedures. As such, your best care will be found in a hospital and outpatient setting. Our focus is on you, giving you the best care available.
Preparing for surgery requires that you take several preliminary steps. Download this page for your convenience in following the checklist.
Going to the hospital operating room is obviously not a normal experience for most of us. Dr. Black and his staff recognize the natural anxiety with which most patients approach this step in the process of achieving their goals. We believe a description of the surgery experience will help to be fully prepared for it.
Your surgery will usually be performed at The Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital located near 144th and Center Street. Specialists using the most modern equipment and techniques will attend to you. This team includes anesthesia personnel, a trained surgical assistant, and nurse who will assist Dr. Black. A registered nurse is in charge of the operating room. All are proud to maintain the standards of The Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital.
Once you enter the operating suite, the staff will do everything they can do to make you feel secure. You will feel comfortable and the anesthesia personnel will start an intravenous drip your arm. Medicines that will make you drowsy will flow through the tubing into a vein in your arm. At the same time, to ensure your safety, you will remain connected to monitoring devices.
We offer a list of medications that should be discontinued 10 days prior to surgery. Only Tylenol should be taken for pain. Dr. Black must, specifically clear all other medications that you are currently taking, prior to surgery.

When your surgery has been completed and your dressings are in place, you will be moved to the recovery room. You will constantly be connected to monitoring equipment, and during this period, fully trained recovery room nurses will remain with you at all times. These nurses are certified for advance cardiac life support. You can be confident that you will be well cared for in the recovery room.
When your initial recovery is completed and all of your vital signs are stable, you will transported back to your room or released with a family member or friend.
Most people have very little memory about their stay in the recovery room.
We offer a list of medications that should be discontinued 10 days prior to surgery. Only Tylenol should be taken for pain. Dr. Black must, specifically clear all other medications that you are currently taking, prior to surgery.
After your surgery, you will receive specific instructions and information related to your individual needs and plan.
