Meet Dr. Black

Steven B. Black, M.D., is a Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Black believes that each and every patient should be treated with respect, dignity, and privacy. He remains personally involved with every individual case, from the beginning to end, ensuring that surgical goals are met and maintained.

Dr. Black graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical, Center, earning his medical doctorate, in 1972. Dr. Black completed a double residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for general surgery and plastic surgery, after which he moved to Omaha, Nebraska to join his father's private plastic and reconstructive surgery practice. He has been practicing in Omaha ever since that time.

He was certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Black primarily performs surgical procedure through The Nebraska Medical Center, a merger of Clarkson Hospital, University Hospital and Clarkson West Medical Center. He has medical practice privileges at most Omaha area hospitals.

 

In addition to his professional responsibilities as a surgeon, Dr. Black is active in multiple professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Surgical Society, and the American Medical Association. He served as Chief of Staff and Vice Chief of Staff respectively for The Nebraska Medical Center. Today, he continues to be a Board member of the Private Practice Associates.

Meet Heidi Anzalone, R.N.

Anzalone holds a diploma in Surgical Technology from Southeast Community College and an Associates degree in Nursing. Anzalone assists Dr. Black with all office procedures and consultations. She becomes well acquainted with all of our patients to understand their needs and answer any questions they may have, so each patient can receive the best individualized care.

 

History

Plastic Surgical Center was founded by Dr. Albert Black, in 1947. In 1979, Dr. Steven Black joined the Center, after completing his Plastic Surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester Minnesota. This followed 7 years of General Surgery residency and Plastic Surgery residency all at the Mayo Clinic.

During his lifetime, Dr. Albert Black, now deceased, contributed many innovations to Plastic Surgery. Dr. Steven Black continued in a tradition of innovative, highly experienced care. And today, Plastic Surgical Center is a hallmark Center in the field under Dr. Black's leadership and skill.
